Have worked with firewalls since the 1990's. I know how to configure firewalls, worked with almost every make but this is rubbish. Never again.
Don't get me wrong, got it working but YUK!!!

This router came highly recommended and i can see why! it has completely changed our sluggish office network into a highspeed information exchange! there are atleast 50 devices connected to it at one time (through a switch and wirelessly) and it handles them all amazingly! i had some help setting it up, and we have not completely unlocked all its power yet. Its a massive upgrade from the standard BT home and business routers.

Having read reviews I thought that this might be a useful upgrade to my home network, however:

Amazon supplied a device with an American plug? No adapter etc included, then to top it off, lowered the price by £7

So I have sent it back for a full refund, why in this day and age an item is supplied without the required plug is disappointing. And lowering the price a day or so later? No comment!

I have marked the USG as a 4 star, without testing it, this is due to the build quality which looks and feels cheap, it certainly does not feel or look very robust. The 900 page manual is available from Zyxel as a download ( a printed copy is not supplied with router) and unlike the more common routers, or the Cisco RVS4000 and ASUS NT-56, setup does not look very straightforward at all. The "Security features" require a subscription to two software sites, which are relatively expensive and unlike my RVS4000 there is no hardware/software Intruder Prevention System. There is a good review of this router on smallnetbuilder just google for more.

I hope that my few words help you in your decision.
